Store Manager

flaner fragrances is looking for a Store Manager

Job description

We’re looking for a Store Manager to lead our first London store.

We’re opening our first international store on Redchurch Street.

This is the beginning of our UK and European chapter.

We’re looking for someone to help build it. To take ownership of how it runs, every day.

The Role

This is not a typical store manager role.

You’ll work closely with us as we establish flâner in London.

We’re looking for someone who takes ownership of the space, the team, the experience, and the result.

Someone who can hold the store and shape what it becomes.

This is a full-time, on-site role, including weekend work.

What makes this different

  • Our first London store
  • A role in building our UK and EU presence from the ground up
  • Direct collaboration with the founders
  • Real responsibility for how the store performs and feels
  • A chance to build a strong local customer base and community

What you’ll do

  • Take ownership of the store day-to-day, both experience and performance
  • Build, lead and develop a small team
  • Set the tone - how the space feels and how people are welcomed
  • Guide customers through our fragrances in a natural, considered way
  • Drive sales performance and understand what’s behind the numbers
  • Build relationships with local and returning customers
  • Introduce simple VM and in-store moments or activations where relevant
  • Manage stock, reporting, and daily operations with clarity
  • Maintain a high, consistent standard across the space
  • Notice what’s working (what’s not), and act on it
  • Develop a hands-on understanding of our products, including involvement in in-store preparation and finishing of fragrances
  • Contribute to the store’s presence beyond the space; capturing and sharing moments from the store where it feels natural

What we’re looking for

  • Someone who takes ownership without waiting for permission
  • Experience leading or mentoring others in a retail or hospitality environment
  • Strong instinct for both customers and team
  • High standards, held quietly and consistently
  • Commercial awareness, understanding how to drive performance
  • Comfortable operating without heavy structure or layers of management
  • Experience in premium retail, hospitality, or similar environments, with a strong instinct for people, product, and culture
  • A strong understanding of fragrance, or a genuine personal interest in scent and sensory experience
  • Comfortable handling the operational side of a store
  • Motivated by building something, not just maintaining it

About flâner

We’re a fragrance house from Melbourne.

Our work is built around city observations - the unnoticed details, the in-between moments, the way a place actually feels.

London is the next chapter for us.
