Lloyd Barnes Recruitment is pleased to be partnering with an accountancy practice based in Cornwall to appoint a Client Manager. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced accounting professional seeking to advance their career within a supportive and busy firm. Our client is open to considering part‑time or flexible working arrangements for the right candidate.

As Client Manager, you will play a key role in managing a diverse portfolio of clients, building strong relationships, and delivering high-quality financial and advisory services. You will act as a trusted advisor, supporting clients with their business growth while ensuring compliance and best practice.

The responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a diverse client portfolio while driving departmental performance and productivity.
• Review and quality-check work completed by team members to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Inspire, coach, and develop junior staff through mentoring and continuous feedback.
• Build and nurture strong, trusted relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Prepare, review, and finalise financial statements and tax returns to the highest professional standards.
• Oversee bookkeeping processes and VAT return submissions, ensuring timeliness and precision.
• Provide proactive guidance, advice, and support to both clients and colleagues across all service areas.
• Uphold company standards by ensuring full compliance with internal policies, procedures, and key performance metrics.
• Engage in ongoing professional training and development to enhance technical and leadership capabilities.
• Identify and implement opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency across the department.

The candidate:

• ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent QBE / working towards)
• Proven experience within an accountancy practice
• Strong technical knowledge of accounts and tax
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• A proactive and client-focused approach
