Insurance Account Executive

London (On-site)

£40,000 - £55,000 + bonus (DOE)


The Opportunity:

We’re working with a well-regarded specialist insurance brokerage looking to appoint an Account Executive to take ownership of an established and profitable client book. This is a great opportunity for someone who is already operating at Account Executive level - or ready to step into it - and wants autonomy, client ownership, and the ability to grow a portfolio over time.


You’ll inherit a live book of business from day one, working with a mix of complex commercial risks and high-value clients, with the freedom to manage relationships, lead renewals, and shape placement strategy.


The Role:

You’ll act as the primary relationship lead for your portfolio, taking full ownership of client delivery and commercial performance.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing an existing client book, acting as the main point of contact
  • Leading renewals end-to-end, including market approach, negotiation, and placement
  • Advising clients on programme structure, policy wording, and risk strategy
  • Building long-term, consultative client relationships
  • Liaising directly with insurers and underwriters to secure competitive terms
  • Identifying opportunities to grow and develop the portfolio
  • Ensuring FCA compliance, accurate documentation, and high service standards
  • Working closely with internal broking and support teams to deliver seamlessly


About You

You’ll be confident operating independently, with strong technical grounding and a commercial mindset.


We’re looking for:

  • 3+ years’ experience within insurance broking or an Account Executive role
  • Proven experience owning or managing a client book
  • Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products
  • Confidence dealing directly with clients, insurers, and underwriters
  • Ability to manage multiple renewals and deadlines effectively
  • Commercial awareness with a focus on client retention and growth
  • Cert CII (or working towards) is advantageous
