Commercial Manager

Advanced Materials Sector | Surrey (Office-Based) | Full Time | c. £80,000


An established, international business operating within the advanced materials and speciality distribution sector is seeking a Commercial Manager to drive performance and growth across its UK commercial function.


This is a senior leadership opportunity within a technically focused, solutions-led environment. The role combines strategic direction with hands-on commercial leadership and offers the chance to shape growth within a high-value, specialist market.


The Role


Reporting into senior leadership, you will take responsibility for leading a commercial team, delivering financial targets, and driving sustainable business growth.


You will play a key role in developing and executing commercial strategy, strengthening customer relationships, identifying new market opportunities, and ensuring the team is aligned to wider business objectives.


The position is primarily office-based in Surrey, with regular UK travel and occasional international travel as required.


Key Responsibilities


  • Develop and implement commercial strategies to deliver revenue and margin growth
  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing commercial team
  • Drive new business and pipeline development
  • Build and maintain strong customer and stakeholder relationships
  • Monitor performance metrics and ensure delivery against targets
  • Analyse market trends and identify growth opportunities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with technical, product and marketing teams
  • Prepare forecasts, budgets and performance reports
  • Represent the business at industry and networking events


About You


  • Strong commercial experience within a technical or industrial sector
  • Proven track record of delivering sales growth
  • Experience managing and developing sales teams
  • Strong commercial acumen with confidence analysing data and performance metrics
  • Strategic mindset with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Comfortable working in a structured, performance-driven environment
