Complex Care Support Worker

Job description

We are currently recruiting for a compassionate, resilient Complex Care / Support Workers to provide 2:1 support for a young woman in her early 20s with complex mental health needs.

This is a genuinely rewarding role where youll make a meaningful differencesupporting her to live as independently and safely as possible while engaging in positive, everyday activities.

Package

  • £12.82 per hour (weekdays)
  • £13.03 per hour (weekends)(rate increase April 2026 TBC)

Responsibilities

You will be supporting within both the home and community environment, focusing on:

  • Encouraging engagement in positive activities and appointments
  • Supporting daily routines and independent living skills
  • Promoting safety, structure, and wellbeing
  • Using de-escalation and distraction techniques during periods of distress
  • Building a consistent, trusting relationship

This is a 2:1 support package with 12-hour shifts (12pm12am).

Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Previous experience in mental health / complex care / support work
  • Confident supporting individuals with:
  • Challenging behaviours
  • De-escalation techniques
  • Awareness of self-harm and associated risks(desirable, not essential)
  • Calm, patient, and emotionally resilient
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable, flexible, and able to work alternate weekends
  • A genuine passion for supporting individuals with complex needs
