The Role

As a Kitchen Assistant, youll play a key part in delivering a high-quality, customer-focused catering and hospitality service within our Extra Care schemes. The role supports food preparation, mealtime service and front-of-house delivery, ensuring residents receive nutritious meals in a warm and welcoming environment. Youll also help maintain safe, hygienic and efficient kitchen operations while contributing to a positive, resident-centred experience.

What Youll Be Doing

  • Assisting with the preparation and plating of meals to support smooth, efficient service.
  • Acting as the main front-of-house presence welcoming residents, helping them to their seats and supporting meal delivery within the scheme and to customers homes.
  • Preparing simple meals independently (such as breakfasts, snacks and evening teas) when the Chef Manager or Supervisor is not on site.
  • Ensuring meals meet individual dietary and nutritional needs.
  • Responding to customer feedback and escalating issues where needed.
  • Maintaining clean, safe and organised kitchen and front-of-house areas.
  • Completing food safety documentation accurately, including temperature checks, labelling and cleaning schedules.
  • Following food hygiene, health & safety, COSHH and infection control requirements at all times.

  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships.

  • Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and work under pressure.
  • Commitment to diversity and willingness to work flexibly across a 7-day rota.
