The Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Operations Manager to join our team. This is a pivotal role within the studio, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, supporting project delivery, and ensuring the business runs efficiently, commercially, and to the highest standards.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in operations or studio management within a design-led environment, and will be confident balancing strategic oversight with hands-on delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial & Financial Oversight

  • Oversee project budgets, fee tracking, and financial reporting
  • Drive profitability through effective cost control, forecasting, and fee management
  • Support business planning, revenue tracking, and pipeline visibility

Reporting & Leadership Support

  • Provide regular reporting to senior leadership on project status, financial performance, and studio operations
  • Contribute to strategic planning and business improvement initiatives

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a senior point of contact for key clients, consultants, and stakeholders
  • Support the leadership team in maintaining exceptional client relationships and service standards
  • Ensure clear communication across all project phases

Supplier & Contractor Management

  • Maintain and develop relationships with suppliers, contractors, and consultants
  • Oversee procurement processes and contract negotiations in collaboration with design teams

Quality, Compliance & Sustainability

  • Ensure all projects meet the studio’s design, technical, and delivery standards
  • Maintain compliance with UK regulations, H&S requirements, and contractual obligations
  • Support integration of sustainable design practices and responsible sourcing

Requirements

  • 6+ years’ experience in an operations, project management, or studio management role within high-end interior design, architecture, or a related design-led environment
  • Proven experience overseeing multiple projects simultaneously, with strong programme, budget, and resource management capabilities
  • Strong commercial awareness, including experience managing fees, budgets, and project profitability
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop teams
  • Excellent organisational skills with a proactive, solutions-driven approach
  • Confident in managing client and stakeholder relationships at all levels, with clear and professional communication skills
