Teaching Assistant - Andover

Prospero Teaching is recruiting a motivated and supportive Teaching Assistant to join schools in the Andover area. This long-term role involves helping pupils in the classroom, supporting lessons, and giving additional guidance to children who need help staying engaged and confident in their learning.

You'll be working closely with teaching staff to support small groups, assist 1:1 when required, and help maintain a positive, structured classroom environment. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with young people and want valuable experience within an educational setting.

It's a great fit for people with backgrounds in childcare, youth support, SEN, care roles, tutoring, or graduates exploring careers in teaching, psychology, education, or similar fields.

The Role:

• Provide general classroom support across a range of subjects
• Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups as needed
• Help students stay focused, confident and ready to learn
• Assist teachers with learning tasks, activities, and resources
• Encourage positive behaviour and independence
• Help with daily routines and movement between lessons
• Contribute to a calm, inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working with children (school, tutoring, youth work, childcare, coaching, etc.)
• Patient, positive and enthusiastic about helping pupils succeed
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Adaptable, proactive and able to support a range of ages
• Reliable, friendly and confident building rapport with pupils
• Psychology, education or child-related graduates encouraged

Contract Details:

• Position: Teaching Assistant
• Location: Andover
• Start Date: ASAP
• Hours: Full-time, term-time
• Pay:£14.66-£15.66 per hour
• Contract: Flexible

Experience, Training & Safeguarding:

• Experience working with children desirable
• Understanding of classroom expectations helpful
• Safeguarding training available

Eligibility:

• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
• Two relevant references
