Temporary Payroll Supervisor

Job description

A Payroll Supervisor is sought to work for a healthcare business based near Maidstone in Kent. This is a temporary role reporting to the Financial Controller whilst a new payroll accounting system is implemented.

Duties will include

  • All aspects of running a monthly payroll for c400 employees using Access Payroll
  • Overseeing and processing payroll changes for new starters, terminations, and pay amendments
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant laws and internal policies
  • Accurately processing statutory payments, implementing code changes, and attachments to earnings
  • Ensuring HMRC monthly submissions are completed accurately and on time
  • Liaison with the Auditors and management of payroll tax audits
  • Preparation of monthly payroll journals
  • Maintenance of payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures
  • Checking and submitting timesheets and supporting documentation to ensure payroll is accurate and within budget
  • Escalating any concerns and queries to the management team

The successful candidate will have held a similar position for a minimum of 2 years, demonstrating a high level of customer service, confidentiality, and professionalism. Please note that this role is office-based, and due to the location, applicants must be car-owner drivers.
