Company Summary:

We are glad to be retained by a company specializing in hot-cast and cured polyurethane elastomers. PUR combines the strength of plastics with the elasticity of rubber, delivering superior performance over traditional rubber and thermoplastics. Built on deep expertise in polyurethane chemistry, the company has developed a wide range of formulations and processing methods. Due to recent growth, they are looking for an experienced Technical Sales Manager in the UK/Ireland (remote-based) to continue to expand their business in the region.


Job Summary:

In this role, you will be the key link between customers and technical teams, liaising with operations, maintenance, procurement, and similar areas to develop business. The focus is on companies manufacturing bespoke components for industrial clients, operating in heavy industrial and manufacturing environments. This is a remote position with travel to customers across the UK, including Scotland and Ireland.


General Responsibilities:

  • Identifying new business opportunities
  • Building relationships with new leads
  • Managing Quotations: Ensure timely responses to customer RFQs with support from our Work Preparation team
  • Following Up: Keep a pulse on open quotations, collect feedback, and update SAP accordingly
  • Ordering Handling: Forward customer orders, clarify delivery times, and ensure smooth processing
  • Project Leadership: Step into a project manager role for complex or large-scale customer orders


Your key contacts include:

  • Daily: Vice President of Sales, Order Admin, and Customers
  • Weekly: Production Manager, R&D
  • Monthly: Quality Manager


Requirements:

  • 5+ years in B2B sales or business development, ideally with a technical background in mechanical engineering.
  • Experience with industrial equipment, components, or custom manufacturing solutions, and ability to translate technical concepts into commercial value
  • Background may include oil & gas, renewables, steel, plastics, manufacturing, or construction sectors
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills; proactive in identifying and securing new customers
  • Solid technical understanding with customer-facing experience; effective communicator with internal teams and clients
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and a natural relationship-builder
  • Willingness to travel at most 3 days per week across the UK, including Scotland and Ireland
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar systems
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining customer satisfaction
