Field Sales Engineer – Oil, Gas & Hydrogen | South of England (Home Counties)


A leading engineering manufacturer within the oil, gas, and hydrogen sectors is expanding its UK sales team and seeking a Field Sales Engineer to drive growth across the South of England.


This organisation is known for producing ultra‑critical valves used in high‑pressure, high‑integrity environments, where safety, reliability, and precision are non‑negotiable . With increasing demand across emerging energy markets—particularly hydrogen—this is a prime opportunity to join a business recognised for engineering excellence and exceptional product quality .


You’ll be the technical–commercial bridge between customers and manufacturing, developing new business while strengthening existing relationships. The role combines technical engagement, strategic account development, and hands‑on customer interaction across a diverse industrial client base.


Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Identify and secure new business across oil, gas, and hydrogen markets
  • Grow and manage existing accounts to build long-term partnerships
  • Negotiate pricing and contracts to maximise revenue and margin
  • Maintain a healthy pipeline and deliver accurate forecasting

Technical Engagement

  • Provide technical product guidance and expertise to customers
  • Interpret client specifications and translate them into engineered solutions
  • Work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure feasibility and delivery

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders
  • Attend client meetings, site visits, and industry events
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business


Experience & Qualifications

  • Mechanical engineering qualification or equivalent experience
  • Proven technical sales background in oil, gas, hydrogen, or related industrial sectors
  • Experience selling valves, actuators, or fluid control equipment
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation capability


Salary £70,000+
