Location: Leeds (1–2 days per month onsite)

Rate: £500 per day (Inside IR35)

Contract Length: Until end of March 2027


Overview

We are seeking an experienced Front-End Developer to support a high-impact digital programme within the NHS. This role will focus on building scalable, user-centric web applications that improve healthcare services and patient outcomes.

You will be working as part of a cross-functional agile team, contributing to the design, development, and deployment of modern front-end solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain responsive, high-quality front-end applications using React and TypeScript
  • Collaborate with designers, backend engineers, and product teams to deliver seamless user experiences
  • Integrate front-end components with AWS-hosted services and APIs
  • Ensure code quality through testing, code reviews, and best practices
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and continuous improvement of the front-end stack
  • Work within an agile environment, participating in ceremonies and sprint planning


Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial experience with React and TypeScript
  • Experience working with AWS services (e.g. Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudFront)
  • Proven experience delivering projects within the NHS or wider healthcare sector (must-have)
  • Solid understanding of modern front-end architecture and best practices
  • Experience working in agile delivery teams
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders


Desirable

  • Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG)
  • Familiarity with NHS digital standards and governance
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
