Early Years Teaching Assistant | EYFS TA | Nursery Teaching Assistant

Location: Brighton

Pay: £10.00 - £13.00 per hour (above apprenticeship rate)

Start Date: June 2026

Are you looking for an Early Years Teaching Assistant job with training, pay from day one, and real career progression?

We’re recruiting a Trainee Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Primary School Early Years setting in Brighton, supporting children in Nursery or Reception while completing a fully funded Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship.

• £10.00+ per hour (above standard apprenticeship wage)
• FREE Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (CACHE)
• Clear progression to Level 4 HLTA
• Full mentoring and support from Engage Education
• Practical, school-based training designed for EYFS settings

• Support children 1:1 and in small groups
• Assist with phonics, early literacy, numeracy, and play-based learning
• Help manage behaviour and engagement in line with EYFS practice
• Support children’s social, emotional, and developmental needs
• Assist with lesson preparation, activities, and learning resources

This role is ideal for:

• Aspiring Early Years practitioners or teachers

No school experience required — just the right attitude.

Requirements:

• Commitment to an 11-month apprenticeship
• GCSE Maths & English Grade C/4+ preferred
• Not currently enrolled on another government-funded course

• Study completed flexibly during school holidays
