Teaching AssistantCan you help KS2 pupils stay focused, build confidence, and make better progress across the school week? Are you looking for a primary role that gives you real classroom experience in a busy and supportive setting?*** Teaching Assistant *** £80 - £95 per day *** September 2026 to July 2027 *** Large primary school, Ward of Yardley *** Support across the curriculum in KS2The Role: Support KS2 pupils across the curriculum through a mixture of classroom assistance, targeted group work, and focused 1:1 support where needed. You will help reinforce learning in English, Maths, Science, and foundation subjects, keep pupils engaged in lessons, prepare simple resources, and feedback clearly to the class teacher on progress. Teaching assistants support teachers in the classroom and help children with reading, writing, and learning activities, while KS2 covers subjects across the primary national curriculum.The Candidate: You are reliable, adaptable, and able to explain ideas clearly to older primary pupils. You enjoy helping children overcome barriers in their learning, you can work well as part of a classroom team, and you want school-based experience that gives you a strong foundation for a future in teaching. Primary teachers support the educational, social, and emotional development of children aged 3 to 11, so KS2 experience is a strong step towards that path.Requirements- Degree – A 2:2 or above in any subject.
- Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
- Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
- Desire to work in education/with children – Genuine interest in supporting pupil progress and wellbeing.
- Career Goals – A desire to train as a teacher and build a long-term career in education.
