Attendance/Welfare Officer

  • Working Hours: 8:15 AM - 4:30 PM

We are seeking an Attendance/Welfare Officer for a primary school in Bedfont. This temporary role involves managing student attendance and welfare, ensuring that all children are accounted for and receive the support they need to succeed in their educational environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

Attendance

  • Monitor and record student attendance and punctuality using the school's systems.
  • Work closely with teachers and parents to address attendance issues.
  • Provide support and guidance to students facing attendance or welfare challenges.

Care and Welfare of Students

Medical

  • To ensure appropriate storage and administering of prescribed medicines in line with appropriate medical direction.
  • To obtain written consent for pupils requiring the administration of medication during the school day and ensure information is updated as required.
  • To be responsible for preparing and updating appropriate Health Care Plans and maintaining an up to date record of all pupils with known health or personal concerns.
  • To notify the Deputy Headteacher immediately of unusual marks, bruising etc. So that any possibility of “non-accidental injury” may be investigated.
  • To take the lead in organising medical inspections as required, e.g. Health and weight checks
