Reed Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and well-respected primary school in Wakefield to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a Reception class on a full-time, long-term basis, starting immediately.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys early years education and wants to be part of a supportive team where their contribution truly matters.
The role:You will be a key part of the Reception team, supporting children at a crucial stage in their development. Your day-to-day role will include:
- Supporting learning through play and early phonics activities
- Working closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support where needed
- Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting emotional development
- Helping to create a safe, stimulating and inclusive classroom environment
- Has recent, current experience working in a primary school (Reception experience is essential)
- Holds a relevant Teaching Assistant or Early Years qualification (Level 2 or 3 or equivalent)
- Is enthusiastic, patient and nurturing by nature
- Can build positive relationships quickly with children and staff
- Is reliable, committed and genuinely passionate about early years education
