Job description
I am seeking a Medical Manager, Ophthalmology to lead Medical Affairs activity in the UK for a ophthalmology product in the post-launch phase.
Working closely with the Brand and Medical Affairs teams, you will shape and execute the country medical strategy, build strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, and ensure high-quality scientific engagement across the therapeutic area. This is a field-based role with a strong focus on external stakeholder management, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic medical leadership.
Key responsibilities
- Lead Medical Affairs activity for the ophthalmology portfolio in the UK post-launch environment.
- Develop and execute the country medical plan in alignment with brand strategy.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and relevant national networks.
- Organise and deliver advisory boards, scientific meetings, congress activities and symposia support.
- Support publications, posters and congress presentations in collaboration with KOLs and internal stakeholders.
- Serve as the key medical contact for external scientific and medical queries from HCPs.
- Provide medical education and training to field and commercial colleagues.
- Develop medical content and strategic briefing materials for KOLs and congress attendance.
- Partner with Marketing to provide medical insight and ensure scientific accuracy of brand materials.
- Support investigator-initiated studies, external collaborations and related approval processes.
- Ensure all activities comply with relevant industry codes, standards and internal governance requirements.
You will bring:
- A life sciences, medical or scientific degree.
- Medical Affairs experience within the pharmaceutical industrym ideally in a field medical (MSL / medical science liaison role)
- Experience in ophthalmology, ideally with an established KOL network.
- Exposure to launch or post-launch Medical Affairs activity.
- Experience working alongside Marketing and/or Commercial teams.
- A proactive, collaborative and field-oriented approach.
