We’re Hiring: Pension Specialist (Project-Focused) – 6-Month FTC
London or Birmingham (Hybrid)
Are you a pensions expert who thrives on solving complex challenges in live operational environments?
Dalkia UK is looking for an experienced Pension Specialist to join our People team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a high-impact, project-focused role where you’ll lead consolidation, compliance and governance improvements across our predominantly DC pension schemes.
If you combine deep technical pensions knowledge with strong project delivery skills and a hands-on, solutions mindset we’d love to hear from you.
The Opportunity
You’ll play a key role in strengthening and refining our pension landscape — assessing current processes, identifying risk and compliance gaps, and delivering practical, sustainable improvements.
Working closely with Payroll, HR Systems (iTrent ideally), Finance, Legal, Communications and our external pension provider, you’ll operate in a live environment where accuracy, collaboration and control are critical.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing expert advice on pension administration, scheme rules and UK DC regulations
- Leading pension consolidation and governance improvement initiatives
- Diagnosing data, process and compliance gaps — producing clear, risk-based recommendations
- Supporting remediation (data validation, supplier engagement, system/process correction)
- Strengthening internal policies, procedures and governance frameworks
- Preparing dashboards and progress reporting for People Leadership
- Partnering with stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely pension processing
- Identifying opportunities to enhance employee engagement with pension savings
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience in a Pension Specialist or pensions project role across complex DC schemes:
- Strong knowledge of UK pension regulation and governance standards
- Experience working closely with Payroll and HR systems (iTrent desirable)
- Highly analytical with strong risk awareness and problem-solving capability
- Strong project management skills across concurrent workstreams
- Confident stakeholder manager across HR, Payroll, Finance and external providers
- Calm, resilient and solutions-focused in fast-moving environments
Why Join Dalkia UK?
This is a unique opportunity to make a measurable impact in a short timeframe helping shape a stronger, more efficient and compliant pension offering for the future.
You’ll work at the heart of People Operations, collaborating across functions while driving meaningful, risk-based improvements that support both governance excellence and employee experience.
