The Role

The firm is looking to recruit a part-qualified through to junior qualified Patent Attorney to join its Chemistry practice.


The team handles a varied mix of prosecution and contentious matters across a range of chemical subject areas. You will gain exposure to complex, high-value work and have the opportunity to get involved in more technical and strategic matters as your experience develops.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting and prosecuting UK, European and international patent applications
  • Managing a varied caseload across chemistry-related technologies
  • Supporting contentious matters, including oppositions and appeals
  • Assisting with multi-jurisdictional matters where required
  • Working closely with colleagues to deliver commercially focused advice to clients
  • Contributing to the development of client relationships


Requirements

  • Part-qualified UK and/or EQE through to circa 3 years’ PQE
  • Background in Chemistry or a related discipline
  • Experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications
  • Exposure to EPO work would be beneficial
  • Strong academic background
  • Commercial awareness and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A collaborative and proactive approach
