Risk and Claims Specialist
Central London | Remote / Hybrid / Flexible Working Considered
A high growth firm is looking for a Risk and Claims Specialist to join their Office of General Counsel and support the General Counsel on a broad range of professional negligence and professional indemnity matters.
This is a rare opportunity for a solicitor or CILEX-qualified lawyer with strong experience in solicitors’ professional negligence to step into a trusted, high-impact in-house role. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, external counsel and insurers, helping to manage claims, reduce risk and support the firm on sensitive and complex issues.
What you’ll be doing:
- Advising on professional negligence and PI matters, including notifications, circumstances and claims.
- Supporting lawyers and partners with issues arising from errors, complaints or potential claims.
- Instructing and managing panel lawyers and other external advisers.
- Liaising with insurers, internal stakeholders and external counsel.
- Helping identify themes, reduce recurrence and strengthen the firm’s risk approach.
What we’re looking for:
- Solicitor or CILEX qualification, c. 4 PQE.
- Proven experience handling solicitors’ professional negligence matters.
- Strong understanding of professional indemnity and claims processes.
- Experience advising law firms, or equivalent in-house/insurer-side experience supporting law firms.
- Confident stakeholder management and excellent communication skills.
- A calm, credible and discreet approach.
