Project: Greenfield data & reporting platform build

Industry: Commodities & energy trading

Location: London (hybrid 3 days per week)

Rate: £700-800/d (inside IR35)

Contract: 6 months initial (multiyear scope)

X4 Technology are partnered with a leading commodities & energy trading firm offering the opportunity for a Contract Power BI Specialist to deliver a new greenfield reporting and analytics platform.

As a hands-on Power BI Specialist, you'll lead the development of scalable reporting solutions and act as a Subject Matter Expert across BI architecture, data modelling and Power BI development. This role will play a key part in shaping the organisation’s modern reporting capability within a cloud data environment.

Requirements for the contract Power BI Specialist (Commodities)

• BI/Reporting: Power BI, data visualisation, Power BI Service, Advanced DAX, Tabular Editor, DAX Studio, Measure Killer
• Data Modelling & Architecture: Semantic design, Star Schemas, Semantic models
• Databases & Platforms: Snowflake, Azure Databricks
• Data Engineering & ETL: ETL processes, DBT, IBM Data Manager
• DevOps & Governance: GitHub, Version control, CI/CD, License management, Capacity optimisation
• Background in commodities or energy trading environments strongly preferred

This is a 6 month initial contract but with multiyear scope offering a day rate of £700-800/d inside IR35.
