- Negotiate commercial terms and secure marketing support with suppliers.
- Partner cross-functionally to align on strategy and deliver departmental KPIs.
- Drive in-season trading, maximising reorders and minimising markdown risk.
- Analyse performance through regular floor walks and implement actions to improve underperformance.
- Present seasonal strategy, brand direction and concession plans to key stakeholders.
- Continuously research the market to source new brands and maintain a differentiated, trend-led offer.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Lead, coach and develop the buying team.
- Represent the business at key industry events, including trade shows and fashion weeks.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years’ buying experience within a fast-paced, multi-channel retail environment.
- Strong commercial and analytical mindset with a keen eye for product and trend.
- Proven ability to make strategic decisions based on performance insights and market shifts.
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Effective leader with experience developing high-performing teams.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid understanding of end-to-end buying processes and best practice.
- Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
- Experience within a department store or concession-led environment preferred.
