CPC Project Services is looking for a Project Manager (NEC - Highways)

Job description

NEC Project Manager / Senior NEC Project Manager

Location: Manchester/Liverpool

Sector: Highways & Local Authority

Team: Transport & Infrastructure

Small enough to deliver, big enough to care

At CPC Project Services, we’re an award-winning, independent Project Management and Cost Consultancy with over 36 years’ experience delivering high-quality projects across infrastructure, property, and transformational change.

Since becoming employee-owned in 2024, we’ve placed our people at the heart of everything we do. Every employee shares in the success they help create, giving you a real stake in the business. Our culture is built on ownership, pride, and genuine motivation - creating an environment where you can grow, be recognised for your contributions, and help shape the future of the company, all while enjoying long-term stability.

With a clear vision to reach £100m turnover by 2033, this is an exciting time to join our expanding Transport & Infrastructure team and contribute to projects that make a real difference in communities.

Role Overview:

You’ll play a key role in delivering essential infrastructure that improves connectivity, enhances communities, and leaves a lasting legacy. Working across a diverse portfolio of highways and transport schemes, you’ll gain exposure to varied, technically engaging projects while continuing to develop your expertise within the NEC framework.

This is a hands-on, client-facing role, managing the full project lifecycle and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to high standards.

Whether you are NEC-accredited, or an experienced Project Manager with NEC contract exposure, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead NEC-accredited highways and local authority projects from inception to completion
  • Manage planning, cost control, programme, risk, and quality across projects
  • Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
  • Coordinate consultants and contractors, ensuring alignment with project objectives
  • Support regional project opportunities, contributing to CPC’s growing NEC PM offering

About You:

  • Proven experience delivering projects under NEC contracts (accreditation ideal but not essential)
  • Experience delivering highways / local authority projects, or broader infrastructure (e.g. Rail, aviation)
  • Strong project delivery skills: planning, cost, and programme management

Benefits:

At CPC Project Services, we offer more than just a competitive salary, we provide a benefits package that supports you both at work and beyond. Some highlights include:

  • Private healthcare for you and your family (including dental and optical)
  • Private pension scheme
  • Hybrid and flexible working
  • Travel insurance (including winter sports) for you, your partner, and dependants
  • Support with professional memberships and ongoing training

We also believe great work deserves recognition. That’s why we offer a personal performance bonus and annual salary reviews, ensuring your contribution is recognised as we achieve our goals together.

Diversity & Inclusion:

CPC is an equal opportunities employer and a Disability Confident employer. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to providing an inclusive environment for professional growth and development.

Polite Notice to Recruitment Agencies:

We are not seeking external recruitment support at this time. Speculative CVs will not be considered.
