Senior Development Engineer – Electronics & Firmware (Precision Instrumentation)

The client are a UK-based designer and manufacturer of high-precision instrumentation used across multiple sectors for next generation innovative developments. The emphasis is on products that deliver accuracy, repeatability, and long-term reliability—and we’re looking for someone who takes pride in delivering exactly that.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead electronics-driven product development from concept through to production
  • Take full ownership of designs—hardware, firmware, and system integration
  • Work hands-on with analogue & digital electronics and embedded systems
  • Collaborate closely with precision mechanical engineers in a true R&D environment
  • Drive projects forward with autonomy and accountability


⚙ What We’re Looking For

You’ll bring:

  • Strong experience in electronics design (analogue + digital)
  • Embedded firmware development (C / C++)
  • Work with motors, sensors (LVDTs, load cells), and temperature control systems
  • Proven track record of delivering real, physical electro-mechanical products
  • Confidence in taking products from idea → validation → production → support - Full lifecycle


Ideal Background

We’re especially interested in engineers with experience in:

  • Cross Discipline of Electronics, Firmware and Mechanical
  • Interest in Scientific or laboratory instrumentation, Precision automation or motion systems
  • Measurement, metrology, or test equipment
  • High-reliability engineering environments


This Role Isn’t For

  • Pure software or cloud-focused engineers
  • PCB layout-only specialists
  • Early-career or graduate-level candidates
  • Anyone without hands-on product delivery experience
