C++ Developer

Manchester (Onsite)

£40,000 – £75,000 (depending on experience)

We’re working with a leading organisation operating at the forefront of national security and advanced technology, currently expanding their engineering capability in Manchester. They’re looking to bring in multiple C++ Developers across a range of experience levels to support the development of high-performance, mission-critical systems.

This is an opportunity to work on complex, real-world problems where your code has a direct and meaningful impact.

The Role

You’ll be part of a highly skilled engineering team developing and enhancing sophisticated software solutions used in demanding environments. The work is technically challenging and fast-paced, with plenty of scope to broaden your skillset and work with new tools and technologies.

You’ll be involved in:

• Developing high-performance applications using modern C++

• Working at a low level on Linux-based systems

• Building scalable, robust solutions with a focus on efficiency and concurrency

• Contributing to the full software lifecycle within an Agile environment

• Troubleshooting and supporting live systems when required

What They’re Looking For

• Strong experience with C++ (modern standards preferred)

• Solid understanding of Linux development environments

• Experience working with multi-threading and performance optimisation

• Knowledge of networking protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS)

• Familiarity with additional tools/languages such as Python, Bash or similar

• Experience working in Agile teams (e.g. Scrum, Jira)
