Job description
An established and rapidly scaling renewable energy developer operating across multiple European markets is seeking a Design Engineer to support the delivery of commercial and industrial (C&I) solar PV projects.
This role offers exposure to multi-country project delivery and the opportunity to work within a high-growth, technically driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Design & Engineering
- Support electrical design for C&I solar PV projects
- Produce and review single-line diagrams (SLDs), cable calculations, and equipment specifications
- Assist with protection settings and grid compliance documentation
- Ensure compliance with EU directives and national electrical standards
Grid Connection & Compliance
- Support preparation of grid applications
- Interpret country-specific grid code requirements
- Liaise with utilities and certification bodies
- Assist with commissioning and energisation processes
Project Execution & Site Support
- Review contractor designs for compliance
- Support RFIs and resolve technical queries during construction
- Participate in site inspections and commissioning activities
- Track and escalate technical risks
Skills & Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- 3–4 years’ experience in solar PV, renewables, or power infrastructure
- Experience with C&I or distributed generation projects
- Knowledge of LV systems, inverter-based generation, and cable sizing
- Familiarity with grid connection processes
- Strong ability to interpret technical drawings
- Willingness to travel across Europe
- Fluent in English
