HGV Class 1 Driver – Bilston, West Midlands

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Bilston, West Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, and genuine opportunities for growth and progression.

• Monday to Friday
• 06:00 start times

Rates of Pay

• £16.00 per hour (basic)

Day-to-Day Duties

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Carrying out trunking work
• Operating and driving Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently
• Completing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Ensuring all loads are correctly secured
• Adhering to UK traffic laws and transport regulations
• Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
• Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance issues
• Assisting with loading and unloading when required

Essential Skills

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

• Valid UK Category CE Driving Licence
• Minimum of 12 months' experience driving CE vehicles
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences (no major endorsement codes)
• Valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
• Good level of spoken and written English
• Excellent punctuality and time-keeping skills
• Strong understanding of road safety and traffic regulations
• Effective communication skills

Desirable Experience

• Previous commercial driving experience

Training Provided

• Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
