Job Title: Senior Building Surveyor
Location: Oxford, UK

Overview:
My client is seeking an experienced Senior Building Surveyor to join its growing team. This role offers the opportunity to take a leading position in delivering a wide range of surveying services, managing projects, and supporting junior team members, while contributing to the continued success of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver a broad range of building surveying services across commercial and/or residential portfolios
- Undertake detailed building inspections, condition surveys, and defect analysis
- Prepare comprehensive reports, specifications, and technical advice for clients
- Manage refurbishment, maintenance, and improvement projects from inception through to completion
- Act as Contract Administrator, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required standards
- Provide expert advice on building pathology, repairs, and compliance with current regulations
- Prepare and manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules
- Support with dilapidations assessments, negotiations, and reporting
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, including CDM duties where applicable
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships
- Mentor and support junior surveyors, contributing to team development
- Assist in business development activities, including client engagement and proposal preparation
- Stay up to date with industry standards, legislation, and best practices
Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience as a Building Surveyor, ideally at Senior level
- Strong knowledge of building construction, defects, and maintenance practices
- Experience in project management and contract administration
- Familiarity with relevant UK legislation and regulations (including CDM)
- Excellent report writing and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively
- MRICS qualified (or working towards) preferred
