Associate Electrical Engineer - South Manchester


We’re working exclusively with a highly regarded building services consultancy to appoint a Electrical Associate/ Associate Director to their leadership team in South Manchester.


This is a key strategic hire within a business known for its technical excellence, collaborative culture, and diverse project portfolio. As Associate Director, you’ll take a client-facing lead across multiple sectors — including commercial, education and residential — while overseeing the performance and coordination of an established mechanical design team.


It’s an ideal role for an experienced Electrical building services engineer looking for more influence, leadership, and long-term progression within a growing business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical engineering delivery on a variety of multi-sector projects
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, architects, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Manage and mentor a team of mechanical engineers, promoting collaboration and technical development
  • Coordinate design outputs across disciplines to ensure seamless project delivery
  • Oversee workload planning, resource management, and project financials
  • Support Directors with business development, bid work, and strategic growth planning
  • Maintain high technical standards, champion sustainable design, and ensure compliance with current regulations


Requirements

  • Degree-qualified Electrical Building Services Engineer (or equivalent)
  • Chartered or working toward CEng status
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience within UK consultancy environment
  • Proven track record of delivering complex projects from concept to handover
  • Strong client-facing and leadership skills
  • Comfortable managing teams and coordinating cross-discipline design packages
  • Confident communicator with a commercially aware, delivery-focused mindset
