We are hiring for an Assistant Transport Manager at Branston Ltd!

At Branston, potatoes are at the heart of everything we do. We supply fresh and prepared products to some of the UKs leading retailersand our Transport team plays a vital role in making sure our produce reaches supermarket shelves on time. As part of this team, youll help keep operations running smoothly and efficiently.
Key responsibilities
In this role, you will support the Transport Manager in the day-to-day running of operations, including:
- Ensuring fleet vehicles are maintained in line with all legal requirements
- Assisting with vehicle planning, coordinating schedules with growers, and communicating plans to the team
- Liaising with third-party haulage providers and raising purchase orders for subcontracted work
- Providing operational support to drivers as needed
- Supporting the recruitment and training of new drivers
- Monitoring driver hours to ensure compliance with legislation and accurate payroll reporting
- Stepping in to cover Transport Manager duties when required
- Promoting a strong health and safety culture across the team
What were looking for:
Were keen to hear from candidates who have:
- Previous experience in transport or operational management
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- A good understanding of budgets and financial processes
- A Transport Manager CPC (desirable but not essential)
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
