Trainee Trade Mark Attorney – LondonAbout the RoleWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Trade Mark Attorney to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to begin or develop your career in intellectual property, working closely with experienced Partners and senior Chartered Trade Mark Attorneys.

You will gain hands‐on experience across a broad range of trade mark and design matters, with structured support and training to help you build technical expertise and progress professionally.

Key Responsibilities

Review trade mark watch notices and prepare clear, concise client reports

Assist in providing advice to clients on trade mark matters

Prepare, file, prosecute and maintain trade mark and design applications

Review UK examination reports and foreign office actions and draft client advice

Conduct trade mark searches and report on findings

Support opposition and litigation matters

Maintain accurate time recording and ensure work is billed appropriately

Provide general technical and administrative support as required

Continuously develop knowledge to operate at a high professional standard

Skills & ExperienceEssential:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Excellent attention to detail, including spelling and grammar

Ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks effectively

Professional and organised approach to work

Desirable/To Be Learned:

Trade mark search platforms (e.g., Serion)

Case management systems such as Inprotech and Equinox

Ability to communicate clearly with clients via email, letter and telephone

Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure

Adaptability in handling a variety of tasks and correspondence

High level of accuracy and consistency in all work
