About the RoleThis is not a standard teaching role.

At Pathway Academy Zone, you will work with young people who need more than just lessons , they need structure, belief, and someone who can genuinely engage them.

We are looking for a Core Subject Tutor who can deliver English, Maths and Science, while also contributing to a broader curriculum that supports personal development and real-life readiness.

You will work with small groups and on a 1:1 basis, helping learners who may have faced barriers in mainstream education to re-engage and progress.

What You ll Be Doing

Delivering engaging sessions across English, Maths and Science (KS3/KS4)

Supporting delivery of wider curriculum areas including PSHE, RSHE, Humanities, RE and PE

Adapting teaching approaches to suit individual learning needs

Working closely with learners with SEMH and additional needs

Building strong relationships to improve behaviour and engagement

Monitoring progress and maintaining clear, accurate records

Supporting learners towards positive outcomes and progression

What We re Looking For

Experience working with young people, ideally within alternative provision or similar settings

Confidence delivering core subjects at KS3/KS4 level

Ability to engage learners who may be disengaged from education

Strong behaviour management and communication skills

A calm, resilient and adaptable approach

Teaching qualification or relevant subject-based degree

Desirable

Experience with SEN/SEMH learners

Background in alternative provision or PRU settings
