Design Engineer - Complex Solar & BESS Utility Projects

We’re hiring a Solar Design Engineer for a globally active renewable energy developer delivering complex, utility-scale projects across Europe and Africa. This role is suited to engineers who want to work on technically demanding projects within an international environment.

What you’ll be doing

Working in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment, you will develop electrical design for utility-scale solar PV and energy storage projects, including cable sizing, protection and earthing, system integration for grid connection, preparation and review of technical documentation, and supporting site activities such as FAT/SAT to ensure successful project delivery.

What we’re looking for

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline
• Experience or exposure to utility-scale solar PV & BESS design
• Familiarity with international IEC standards
• AutoCAD, PVSyst, and power system tools (e.g. DIgSILENT, Homer)
• Understanding of grid connection design and protection & control systems, with exposure to medium voltage networks
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and within a team
