Morgan McKinley is looking for a Senior RF Design Engineer

Job description

Senior RF Design Engineer | Cambridgeshire | £70-100k

Location: Cambridge

Salary: £70-£100k based on seniority

Due to the type of work the client are looking for UK eyes only candidates

We are seeking a high-caliber Senior RF Electronics Engineer to join an elite technology company. This is a role for a "problem solver" who thrives in a high-variety environment and enjoys the satisfaction of seeing a concept move from a sketch on a whiteboard to a physical product in a state-of-the-art lab.

The Opportunity

Joining a multidisciplinary team of subject matter experts, you will take ownership of the RF lifecycle. You won't just be a cog in a machine; you will be instrumental in designing, building, and testing complex RF-based systems. You will have access to world-class facilities, including anechoic chambers and the latest spectrum/network analysis equipment, to bring your designs to life.

Your Technical Profile

  • Education: A strong MEng in Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 6+ years of post-graduate experience in RF-based circuit design (Radios, Radars, etc.).
  • Design Cycle: Proven track record of taking modules from initial concept through to successful design verification.
  • Core Skills: Expert-level microwave, RF, and analogue design/simulation skills, including:
  • RF Amplifiers
  • Filters
  • Frequency Synthesisers

The "Value Add" (Desired but not essential)

  • Knowledge of mm-wave frequency design.
  • Understanding of full Radio or Radar systems.
  • Digital circuit design skills to complement your RF expertise.
  • Previous experience in team leadership or mentoring junior engineers.

Why Join This Team?

  • Unrivaled Variety: No two projects are the same. You will rotate across sectors including Aerospace, Defence, and IoT.
  • Technical Growth: Extensive support for professional development, whether you want to pursue a technical fellowship, commercial leadership, or management.
  • Collaborative Culture: Work in a supportive environment where you are expected to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical clients, bridging the gap between "the lab" and "the real world."

The Rewards

Our client offers a highly competitive salary and a bespoke benefits package tailored to your level of expertise. More importantly, they offer a "stimulating environment" that encourages you to be your best, backed by all the training and support needed to tackle the most demanding technical challenges in the industry.

If you are an adaptable, motivated engineer ready for a fresh challenge, apply today with your CV.
