Job description

We are recruiting for an Electrical Estimator to join a growing engineering business delivering bespoke electrical projects. This is a key commercial role, focused on producing accurate, competitive costings and supporting successful project delivery from the earliest stage.

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates covering materials, labour, and associated project costs
• Review specifications, drawings, and tender documents to build accurate proposals
• Work closely with sales, engineering, and operations teams to ensure alignment
• Interpret client requirements and ensure full scope is captured in estimates
• Monitor tender-stage budgets and maintain commercial awareness
• Maintain clear and organised records of estimates and bid activity
• Identify risks within tenders and propose practical mitigation strategies
• Support and mentor junior estimators within the team

Requirements:

• Electrical engineering background (HNC/HND or equivalent)
• Experience in an estimating role within electrical or building services
• Strong technical understanding of electrical systems
• High attention to detail with solid numerical and analytical skills
• Confident working with technical drawings and documentation
• Strong communication and organisational ability
• Experience supporting or guiding junior team members
