This role is suited to a Senior Data Engineer or Data Platform Consultant who can operate across both legacy Microsoft stacks and modern cloud-based architectures, helping deliver a complex migration from end to end.

This is a hands-on role with strong influence over design, architecture, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support transformation of reporting layers from SSRS into Power BI or Fabric
  • Work closely with stakeholders across clinical, operational and technical teams
  • Implement best practices across data modelling, ingestion and platform design
  • Support knowledge transfer and capability uplift within the organisation

Required Experience

  • Strong background in Microsoft on-prem data stack including SQL Server, SSIS and SSRS
  • Proven experience delivering data migration or platform modernisation programmes
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, or strong Azure data platform experience with exposure to Fabric
  • Strong SQL and data modelling capability
  • Comfortable working in complex, stakeholder-heavy environments

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working within healthcare, NHS or wider public sector environments
  • Exposure to Azure Data Factory, Synapse and Power BI
  • Understanding of data governance, lineage and security
  • Experience working in consultancy or project-based delivery environments

Why this role

  • Opportunity to play a key role in a high-impact healthcare data transformation programme
  • Work on a large-scale migration from legacy systems into Microsoft Fabric
  • Blend of hands-on engineering and architecture ownership
  • Opportunity to influence long-term data platform strategy
