Main Responsibilities:

Cleaning responsibilities:

  • Working in designated areas as prescribed on a rotating basis and as instructed by the Care Home Manager or Deputy Home Manager.
  • Vacuuming and cleaning residents rooms, the corridors and all communal areas within the care home to a high standard.
  • Ensuring the furniture, fittings including furniture, fabric, and equipment are also cleaned and maintained to a high standard.
  • Being respectful of residents personal belongings and helping contribute to their upkeep / cleaning (e.g. Furniture) and that any objects that are removed for cleaning are replaced in the same position.
  • Ensuring the residents are safe whilst carrying out cleaning tasks.

Laundry responsibilities:

    • Collecting the residents personal laundry as per the rota in the morning and return to the residents the same day or informing residents of any outstanding laundry.
    • Ensuringthat all clothes washed are dried correctly using the tumble dryer,
    • You will be responsible for ironing clothes and linen ensuring that that iron is set to the correct temperature and not left unattended
    • Collecting and sorting soiled linen into the correct categories ensuring that soiled items are not washed with unsoiled items.
Candidate Requirements
  • Ability to recognise residents'rooms and belongings are personal and private
  • Have an awareness of Health and Safety, COSHH regulations and manual handling
  • To demonstrate safe practices
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Maintain a polite and courteous manner towards residents, staff and visitors to the home at all times
