About the Job:
We’re supporting a leading UK-based MRO located in Manchester in the search for a Compliance Monitoring & Safety Manager to oversee regulatory compliance, safety management, and quality assurance across line maintenance and component maintenance operations.
This is a key leadership role within the organisation, responsible for ensuring continued compliance with CAA / EASA Part-145 regulations, driving a strong safety culture, and supporting continuous improvement across all maintenance activities.
The ideal candidate will be a licensed B1 Aircraft Engineer with hands-on line maintenance experience and a strong understanding of compliance, audit processes, and aviation safety systems.
Responsibilities:
Compliance Monitoring & Quality Assurance
- Lead and manage the Compliance Monitoring System in accordance with Part-145 requirements
- Conduct internal audits across line maintenance and component maintenance activities
- Ensure continued organisational compliance with CAA / EASA regulatory standards
- Review and approve maintenance processes, procedures, and documentation
- Support external audits from regulators and customers, ensuring timely closure of findings
Safety Management System (SMS)
- Oversee the company Safety Management System and promote a strong safety-first culture
- Manage occurrence reporting, investigations, and root cause analysis
- Ensure effective hazard identification and risk mitigation processes are in place
- Monitor safety performance indicators and implement improvement initiatives
Engineering & Operational Oversight
- Apply technical understanding of line maintenance and component repair environments
- Provide oversight on maintenance activities to ensure compliance and airworthiness standards are maintained
- Work closely with engineering, line maintenance, and workshop teams to ensure procedural adherence
Regulatory & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a key point of contact for regulatory authorities and internal stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with all applicable CAA / EASA requirements and company approvals
- Support development and updates of company manuals (MOE, SMS Manual, etc.)
Continuous Improvement
- Identify trends from audit and safety data to drive process improvements
- Support training and awareness initiatives across compliance and safety topics
- Contribute to development of a proactive, high-performance compliance culture
Qualifications:
- UK CAA Part-66 B1 Licence
- Strong background in line maintenance operations
- Experience within a Part-145 MRO environment
- Proven experience in compliance monitoring, auditing, or safety management roles
- Strong understanding of SMS, human factors, and aviation regulatory frameworks
- Experience with aircraft component maintenance advantageous
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organisational skills
- Right to work in the United Kingdom
