Mechanical Design Engineer

Sheffield

£30,000 - £35,000 (dependent on experience)

I am working with a well-established engineering business based in Sheffield, they are looking to add a Mechanical Design Engineer to their growing team.

They are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer who can help take the business forward, bringing 3D design capability, finite stress analysis experience, innovative design ideas and supporting calculations.

Responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer:

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies
• Produce accurate 2D and 3D drawings for manufacture
• Work closely with production and fabrication teams to ensure designs are practical
• Liaise with customers and internal teams on design specifications
• Support projects from concept through to completion
• Ensure all designs meet industry standards and regulations

Requirements of the Mechanical Design Engineer:

• Mechanical Engineering qualifications
• Minimum 2 years’ experience within a Mechanical Design Engineer role
• Experience using 2D and 3D AutoCAD
• Ability to produce detailed engineering drawings for manufacture
• Experience with finite stress analysis, FEA and engineering calculations
• Automotive industry experience (desired)
• Experience designing commercial vehicles, pressure vessels or tanks (desired)
