Job description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Electronics Manufacturing Support Engineer (RF Systems) to join a defence organisation within a specialist seeker systems division to support the transition of complex RF and dual-mode products from design into full-rate production.


This role performs the duties of the Electronics Manufacturing Support Engineer (RF Systems) and reports to the senior engineering leadership within the seeker manufacturing support function.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary interface between design engineering teams and manufacturing to support the transition of seeker products into series production
  • Provide engineering support to resolve manufacturing issues, non-conformances, and production-related technical queries
  • Work closely with manufacturing teams to identify process improvements and drive increased production yield and product quality
  • Support RF assembly and test-related problem solving across complex electronic sub-systems
  • Liaise with internal and external suppliers to ensure continuity of supply for critical sub-assemblies
  • Support obsolescence management activities by feeding technical input back into the design organisation
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes and product build quality
  • Maintain production schedules by ensuring timely resolution of engineering issues affecting build or test


The ideal candidate would have:

  • Background in electronics engineering with exposure to RF systems, assembly, integration, or test environments
  • Experience working within a manufacturing, production support, or NPI environment
  • Strong problem-solving ability when dealing with complex electronic system issues
  • Experience interfacing between design and manufacturing teams or equivalent cross-functional environments
  • Understanding of production test processes, fault diagnosis, and non-conformance management
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively in a high-paced environment
  • Exposure to high-reliability or regulated engineering sectors such as aerospace, defence, or similar


The ideal candidate must have:

  • Solid electronics engineering background
  • Practical experience in manufacturing support, test engineering, or production engineering roles
  • Understanding of RF electronics assembly and test principles
  • Ability to investigate and resolve technical production issues
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage across engineering and manufacturing teams
  • Experience working to tight production schedules and delivering under time constraints
