Department: Design & Construction, Amazon Security Technology (EMEA) - this team sits within Amazon Web Services, but its key customer is Amazon Corporate Security.
Location: London, UK. Must be able to work from an Amazon Corporate office five days per week. Regular overseas travel.

Reports to: EMEA SecTech Regional Manager
Direct reports: Senior Technical Project Managers, Technical Project Managers (team of 9)
Package: £100,000+ (Salary depending on experience).

Job Summary
Contracted to Upstream Risk Management, you will be permanently embedded within Amazon’s Security Technology Design and Construction (D&C) team in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The D&C team sits within Amazon Security and owns all aspects of technical corporate security to protect people, physical and intellectual property across Amazon estates (not including distribution or data centres).
The Account Manager role is critical to delivering contractual success. You will be responsible for turning strategy into action to deliver on Upstream Risk Management’s obligations to support Amazon Corporate Security’s promise of a safe and secure work environment for all Amazonians. You will achieve this by applying your leadership, project management and technical security skills to the detail of planning, leading a team of technical experts, monitoring progress and reporting.
We are looking for an experienced professional who embodies the Amazon Leadership Principles. Exceptional customer focus is non-negotiable. Strong project and stakeholder management skills, along with a firm technical understanding, will be pivotal to success. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate data-based decision-making, a strong understanding of cost-benefit analysis, and a track record of program optimisation. Strong leadership skills are essential.
The location of this role is LHR16, an Amazon corporate office in central London, and you should expect five days per week in the office. International travel of around 20% of the time, including at short notice, should be expected.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Serve as a single point of contact for Amazon SecTech. Maintain availability during core business hours for regular communications on team staffing and performance, project-related correspondence and issues, and other topics as deemed relevant to the overall contract scope of work.
- Monitor project workload versus staff availability. Make recommendations to SecTech on staffing levels and project loading based on quantitative data analysis and historical workload.
- Manage the entire vendor team to ensure the scope of work is being executed in accordance with contract documents. Assist in the onboarding/offboarding of vendor staff as necessary to maintain the expected level of project delivery quality and SLA performance.
- Serve as an escalation point with internal and external stakeholders for all issues related to ongoing projects.
- Perform Quality Assurance / Quality Control of team deliverables to ensure conformance with Amazon design and construction standards. Regularly audit program performance versus deliverables and scope descriptions and make recommendations to address shortfalls.
- Conduct project lessons-learned meetings and make recommendations to Amazon for the adoption of new standards or process requirements.
- Schedule, document, and lead Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual Business Reviews, which will track vendor performance against the established scope of work, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
About You
- Minimum of 7 years in security program management, either as a consultant, end user, or embedded services team leader.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a cross-functional team leader, managing program personnel, leading talent assessments/reviews, managing workload and job assignments, etc.
- Demonstrated understanding of the security project lifecycle, including technology selection, design, bid, award, construction administration, testing, and commissioning.
- Working technical knowledge of access control system hardware architecture, components, and standard installation practices.
- Ability to develop key relationships across functional disciplines, in order to help move projects and other key initiatives forward.
- Strong analytical, verbal communication, and writing skills.
