Store Manager

RELX International is looking for a Store Manager

Job description

The Mission: 0-to-1

Are you a retail entrepreneur trapped in a corporate box? This is your chance to break out. As the Founding Retail Leader for RELX in the UK, you won’t just manage a store—you will spearhead the launch of our high-end Flagship "Trend Hub" in the heart of Manchester.

From the first brick in the fit-out to the Grand Opening gala, you are the owner of this flagship’s destiny in the UK’s most dynamic Northern city.

What You’ll Do (The Core Responsibilities)

  • Flagship Launch & Project Management Lead the full lifecycle of our Manchester launch, coordinating with architects, contractors, and Global HQ. Turn a "shell and core" site into a premium brand landmark—whether in the Arndale, Exchange Square, or the Northern Quarter—on time and on budget.
  • Commercial Strategy & P&L Ownership Treat the store like your own business. You have full accountability for the P&L, labor optimization, and inventory strategy. Drive high-performance results through data-backed decision-making.
  • Hyper-local Marketing & Community Position the store as a cultural landmark. You will independently design in-store activations, lifestyle collaborations, and VIP community events to generate organic "brand heat" within Manchester’s unique creative and professional circles.
  • Regulatory & Risk Management Ensure 100% compliance with TRPR/TPD regulations and UK Employment Law.

The "Grit" Factor (What it takes)

  • The Launcher Mindset: You thrive in the chaos of a 0-to-1 environment. You don't wait for instructions; you find solutions.
  • Northern Soul & Network: Ability to build relationships with Manchester’s discerning KOLs, local entrepreneurs, and cultural tastemakers to drive traffic without massive ad spend.

Who You Are

  • Experience: 3–5 years leading premium retail, lifestyle boutiques, or high-end hospitality (e.g., luxury tech, members' clubs, or high-street flagship stores).
  • Communication: Fluency in English is a must.
  • Operational Resilience: You are as comfortable reviewing a P&L as you are managing a shop-fit contractor or a security crisis.
