We’re recruiting an experienced Senior Residential Care Worker to join our client's well‑established children’s residential home supporting young people with learning disabilities and additional needs.


This is an opportunity to work within a small, stable service where consistent care, safeguarding and positive relationships sit at the heart of everything.


The Role

As a Senior Residential Care Worker, you’ll play a key role in:

  • Providing safe, nurturing and consistent care to children aged 7–17
  • Acting as a strong role model within the staff team
  • Supporting day‑to‑day routines, emotional wellbeing and development
  • Leading shifts and supporting less experienced team members
  • Contributing to care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding practice
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with young people


This role suits someone who enjoys hands‑on care, values structure, and understands the importance of stability for children with complex needs.


Essential Requirements

NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People)

✅ Minimum 1 year’s experience in children’s residential childcare

✅ Confidence working within safeguarding frameworks

✅ A calm, consistent and child‑centred approach


Desirable

⭐ Experience supporting children with learning disabilities

⭐ Experience as a senior or shift‑leading residential care worker
