About the Role
We are looking forcompassionate and resilient Residential Support Worker's to support children and young people aged 618 within a nurturing residential setting. The young people we support may present with challenging behaviours and a range of additional needs, including ADHD, autism and global developmental disorders.
This role requires someone who can provide consistent, trauma-informed care while building strong, positive relationships. You will play a vital role in creating a safe, structuredand supportive environment where each young person can develop, growand achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Build meaningful and trusting relationships with children and young people
- Support daily routines, including mornings, education, activitiesand evening routines
- Promote independence, social skillsand emotional wellbeing
- Engage young people in activities and positive experiences
- Respond calmly and effectively to challenging behaviours
- Work as part of a team to provide consistent, high-quality care
- Support children with additional needs including ADHD, autism and developmental delays
Shift Patterns
- 7:00am 10:00pm shifts
- Sleep-in shifts available
- Weekend working is required
Requirements
- A calm, patient and resilient nature
- Ability to engage effectively with young people and build strong relationships
- Ability to manage challenging behaviours in a professional and supportive manner
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- Minimum 6 months experience working with children or young people (residential care, schools, youth work, SEN, family supportor similar)
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Applicants must be aged 22 or over (due to insurance requirements)
