Job description
A critically acclaimed, design-led architecture studio is seeking an Interior Architect to join its London team, working on a high-profile international retail project from competition stage onwards. You will be joining a studio known for delivering award-winning cultural and commercial projects across the UK and internationally, with a strong reputation for design rigour, material sensitivity, and pushing architectural ideas through multiple scales. You will also be collaborating closely with the architecture team and lead designer, contributing to a project that is both conceptually driven and highly detailed, with a strong emphasis on spatial experience, narrative, and craft. This is an immediate position, so ideally you will have a notice period of no longer than 2 weeks.
Job Description
- You will be working as part of a small, highly focused design team, contributing from early concept and competition stages through to developed design. Responsible for developing interior concepts and spatial strategies for a design-led international retail scheme.
- Collaborating closely with architects and lead designers to ensure a cohesive relationship between architecture and interiors.
- Producing drawings, visuals, and design studies that communicate ideas clearly and precisely.
- Contributing to competition-stage thinking, helping shape narrative, atmosphere, and user experience.
- Supporting the progression of the project into developed design, maintaining design intent and attention to detail.
- Engaging in iterative design processes within a collaborative, critique-led studio environment.
Key Skills
- Experience working as an Interior Architect or Interior Designer within a strong design-led practice.
- Demonstrable experience on retail, cultural, or commercial projects with a strong spatial and conceptual focus.
- Strong design sensibility, with the ability to contribute meaningfully at early concept stage.
- Proficiency in Revit preferred, though not essential (other strong 3D/design tools considered).
- Confident producing drawings, visuals, and presentation material to a high standard.
- Ability to work closely within small teams, contributing ideas and engaging in design discussions.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating material thinking, spatial quality, and attention to detail.
- Notice period no longer than 2 weeks.
This role would suit an Interior Architect who wants to work in a highly design-driven environment, contributing to projects where concept, narrative, and execution are given equal weight, and where interiors play a central role in shaping the overall architectural outcome.
