Join our team as a Principal Environmental Health Officer and play a leading role in delivering high-quality Regulatory Services that protect and enhance our communities. This is a key leadership position focused on driving service improvements, strengthening standards, and achieving positive outcomes for residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate frontline supervisors across Regulatory Services to deliver strategic objectives
• Oversee enforcement activity, ensuring effective, consistent, and lawful practices
• Investigate complaints, nuisances, and environmental health matters
• Conduct inspections across areas such as Food Safety, Housing, Pollution, and Health & Safety
• Develop and implement policies, systems, and service improvements
• Work collaboratively with internal teams, external partners, and agencies
• Provide expert advice to senior officers and elected members
• Manage data, reporting, and compliance with statutory and council requirements
• Supervise, mentor, and support staff development and performance

About You:

• Experienced in regulatory enforcement and investigations
• Strong leadership and organisational skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Able to analyse complex information and make sound decisions
• Confident managing workloads and meeting deadlines

A relevant qualification is essential.
