About the Company


We are working with a highly respected, engineering business to recruit an (Electrical bias) R+D Assembly Technician to join their expanding R+D Team. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your electrical and mechanical assembly skills within a world-class, high-technology manufacturing environment. The company designs and manufactures advanced precision equipment supplied into demanding global markets.


About the Role


As part of a skilled and collaborative team, you will assemble, test and calibrate high-precision products. The work is varied and technical, requiring attention to detail. You will support the R+D team, giving them feedback on practicalities and also support production when products move into manufacturing. You can progress in this role either to more operations or engineering based positions.


Responsibilities


  • Electrical and mechanical precision assembly from drawings/ schematics
  • Assembly, testing and calibration of complex, high-value products
  • Supporting prototype builds and new product introduction into production
  • Working alongside Engineering to improve processes and efficiency
  • Running test procedures, collecting data and completing technical documentation
  • Maintaining high standards of quality and output
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supporting junior team members



Required Skills


  • Experience in electrical and mechanical assembly
  • Experience working with Manufacturing Engineering and R&D teams
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Engineering qualification - mechanical or electrical
  • Strong inspection fundamentals
  • Skilled in building intricate mechanical assemblies
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality output
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience running test procedures and documenting results
