Legal Routing Project Manager

  • Location: London – Fenchurch Street (Hybrid: 3 days onsite)
  • Contract Length: 12 months
  • Rate: £547/day Umbrella


Role Overview

We are seeking a Legal Routing Project Manager for our consultancy client to support a large, regulated legal environment by managing the intake, triage, routing, and progression of legal matters. This role plays a critical part in ensuring matters are accurately assessed, prioritised, and directed to the appropriate legal teams or external counsel in a timely and efficient manner. The successful candidate will bring solid legal operations experience, strong judgement, and the ability to operate effectively within complex, matrixed organisations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end routing and allocation of legal matters, ensuring accuracy and appropriate prioritisation
  • Investigate, assess, and resolve complex or ambiguous legal requests
  • Act as a key point of contact for internal legal teams, external counsel, and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Coordinate legal workflows across multiple geographies in line with policies and service-level expectations
  • Maintain and update case management systems, ensuring high data quality and consistency
  • Monitor and support performance against SLA-driven metrics in a high-volume operational environment
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and service delivery
  • Manage multiple priorities and workstreams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • 3–5+ years’ experience in legal operations, legal services, compliance, or paralegal roles
  • Experience within a regulated industry or large corporate legal department
  • Strong understanding of legal terminology, documentation, and legal processes
  • Excellent investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organisational and project management capability
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including working with senior legal leaders and external counsel
  • Experience working within complex, matrixed, cross-functional environments
  • High IT literacy including proficiency with Google Workspace and rapid adoption of new systems

Preferred Experience

  • Experience using case management platforms such as Salesforce
  • Background in process improvement or continuous improvement initiatives
  • Experience with document management systems or workflow tools
  • Exposure to SLA-driven, high-volume operational environments
  • Proactive, self-starter mindset with a solutions-focused approach

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience
  • Project Management or Process Improvement certification (desirable)
