Function

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for executing our business development strategy, driving revenue growth, and expanding our global presence. In this role, the BDM works closely with the Business Development Director and reports functionally to him. The BDM will identify new business opportunities, cultivate strategic partnerships, and ensure alignment with company objectives. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to foster sustainable growth and enhance client relationships, playing an important role in the company’s long-term success. We are looking for a juniormid-career sales hunter.


Key activities and responsibilities

  • Partner with clients, develop and tailor relationships focused on revenue growth, satisfaction, and long-term commitment.
  • Consult with clients to understand their goals and propose solutions founded upon a comprehensive knowledge of our product and service offering.
  • Together with the Business Development Director, monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to inform strategic decisions.
  • Arrange and attend bi-annual review meetings with clients and relevant colleagues.
  • Prepare and negotiate renewal proposals & contracts.
  • Ensure contractual obligations are met/surpassed.
  • Provide consultancy and best practice guidance in support of clients’ strategic goals.
  • Work together with marketing colleagues to maximise lead-gen and upsell opportunities.
  • Regularly engage with clients and develop solutions that address their needs.
  • Actively engage in continuous improvement, ensuring suggestions and opportunities are highlighted to your line manager.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the core values of the company.
  • Take a participative role in the Company’s sustainability initiative and ensure, where possible, your actions support the achievement of this initiative; reuse, recycle, and replenish.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety, corporate, client, and legislative standards across the function.

You will be required to develop and maintain positive and progressive working relationships both internally and externally, in order to facilitate growth and integration across the business.


Salary

This role offers a competitive salary, dependent on experience. We operate a reward strategy based on our team members receiving a salary that best reflects their experience and skill level.


Hours of work

You may be required to work evenings and weekends during busy periods in order to meet the demands of the business, including overseas travel as required.


Annual leave

Our holiday entitlement is 25 days per annum (plus bank holidays and statutory public holidays). The above role information is not exhaustive, and the company reserves the right to amend this at any time.


Qualifications

  • BSC/BA Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or related fields.
  • Relevant certification in Sales or Marketing [e.g., Certified Sales Professional (CSP), Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM)].


Experience

  • Experience in a Sales role in business development or sales in a B2B setting.
  • Proven record of success with the entire sales process, from planning to presenting and closing.
  • Experience in the events industry &/or tech-enabled businesses.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics, sales strategies, and business development principles.
