Visum Recruitment are proud to be representing our client, a specialist in pneumatic and industrial automation solutions, who are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Area Sales Manager to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.


In this role, you will be responsible for expanding and maintaining the existing customer base while driving new business development across your designated territory. You will play a key role in identifying customer requirements, providing technical solutions, and developing strong distributor and end-user relationships within the industrial pneumatics market.


Area Sales Manager Job Overview

• Develop and maintain existing customer relationships while identifying and securing new business opportunities across the North East region

• Manage and develop distributor relationships, monitoring performance and supporting growth initiatives

• Conduct regular customer visits, including joint visits with senior management where required

• Identify customer requirements and provide technical solutions, troubleshooting and problem-solving support

• Prepare and present quotations, proposals, and commercial offers

• Deliver product training and technical presentations to customers and distributors

• Maintain a structured weekly call plan and update CRM/call reporting systems

• Gather market intelligence, monitor competitor activity, and report on trends and opportunities

• Attend industry exhibitions and events to generate new business leads

• Prepare and support annual sales targets and regional business planning

• Liaise with internal departments including finance, sales, and technical teams to support commercial decisions

• Ensure timely submission of reports, expenses, and claims in line with company policy


Area Sales Manager Job Requirements

• Proven experience in field sales within pneumatics or industrial automation

• Strong understanding of pneumatic components and pneumatic circuitry

• Experience working with distributors and end-user customers

• Strong technical and problem-solving ability

• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the region


Area Sales Manager Salary and Benefits

• Salary up to £50,000

• Company vehicle
